Working on her latest piece in the birthplace of Michelangelo, over the weekend of 24 and 25 October, IΩANNA was a guest artist at the Festa della Castagna 2026 for a two day live stone carving demonstration at Caprese Michelangelo.
Working side by side with fellow sculptor Claudio Rigacci, with whom IΩANNA exhibited at the Florence Biennale 2025, the artists carved in tandem as part of the festival celebrations. Set against the historic backdrop of his birthplace, surrounded with sculptures from Michelangelo and sculptors from around the world, the live demonstration offered visitors a glimpse into the traditional techniques of stone carving.
This cultural exchange was made possible through the coordination of Claudio Rigacci and the Municipality of Caprese Michelangelo.
