Drip lick | Unique Bronze | 2020
Melbourne
An eerie twist on the classic reclined nude. Drip Lick strips this sharp figure back to her mechanical and raw core, an organic and fluid base supporting her.
This artwork was made from studying a live model in wax. The wax was cast into bronze and the base carved from marble. Then, Ioanna made a silicon mold and a full wax version in order to work directly into the wax with heated tools. This technique brings you details such as the drips on the full form of the base.
Driplick was created in 2020 during the first Melbourne lockdown in a share house of artists based in Prahran.
Exhibited until February 5, 2023.
