Nhulunbuy has a bauxite mine due for demolition in 2024 for a rehabilitation project. Bauxite is the raw ore for aluminium, the processing used to occur on site in Nhulumbuy. The group have collected waste aluminium from the surrounding areas as their material and will be melting and casting metal in the coming days.
